State and Local False Claims Acts
Several states and local government entities have false claims act laws that reward and protect whistleblowers who report fraud against the government. Some state false claims acts are “Medicaid only,” meaning that they only apply to Medicaid fraud. Other states have a general false claims act, which applies to every type of government fraud.
