The New York Law Journal features Jim Walden and the pro bono litigation by Walden Macht & Haran on behalf of the District Attorneys Association of the State of New York (DAASNY). Following Walden’s oral argument, the New York State Supreme Court ruled in favor of DAASNY declaring the commission unconstitutional on January 29. Supreme Court Justice David A. Weinstein concluded that the commission would unconstitutionally infringe on the Appellate Division’s power to carry out attorney discipline.
Jim Walden and Jacob Gardener of Walden Macht & Haran represented Soares and DAASNY in Manhattan, which has pioneered what it calls “good government litigation.”
